The Social Matters Podcast

How the podcast started.

Nadia, Fran and Eugene are also the hosts of the Social Matters Podcast. The initial idea came from the observation that, in 2018, there were very few UK podcasts around social work and social work education. They saw this gap/need and wanted to bring conversations about social issues relating to social work to student social workers, qualified and experienced social workers as well as the general public and those outside of the social work field. The intention has been to have a social impact, as well as providing a more accurate representation of social work.

Feedback is that the podcast is fun, accessible, thought provoking, humorous and educational. They all have some systemic training, with Nadia being a systemic psychotherapist, whilst Fran and Eugene are systemic practitioners.

"Just listened to episode 1 of season 3 and it was brilliant. You three have such a way of breaking things down while keeping it accessible. Really thought provoking, interesting chat. Even though you cover some heavy stuff I always leave feeling empowered to take action or to do something different. Thank you"
